First Timer Special Recognition (3)

If this is your first time participating in a hackathon or are a beginner programmer, you have the option of being considered for our First Timer special recognition. We'll give you a shout out for tackling this new challenge!

Best Use of Azure for Social Good

The Best use of Azure for Social Good prize is awarded to the team who makes the best use of Azure during a Microsoft sponsored hackathon. The primary requirement is that your hack project includes Azure in some way to advance the betterment of society or the globe. You can find our scoring rubric on our Hack with Azure page. The winning team will have $1,000 US donated to a charity of their choice (from an approved list).

Best Use of Google Cloud (2)

This prize will be awarded to the project with the best use of any Google Cloud product. Win either a Google Nest Mini for 2nd Place or a Google Cloud Patagonia backpack, water bottle, pillow, and trophy for 1st Place!

Google Cloud COVID-19 Hackathon Fund (10)

Select projects may receive an invitation to apply to the Google Cloud COVID-19 hackathon fund awarding up to $5,000 in cloud credits and guidance from Google developers.

Best Use of echoAR

Build the best AR/VR application using the echoAR platform!

Winners receive a $50 Amazon gift card, 1-month free Business Tier access and a feature in the EchoAR newsletter which will be shared with investors and the AR/VR ecosystem!

Best Use of Voiceflow

Qualifications:

- Build using/incorporating Voiceflow in their project
- Submit a "download" link or "shareable" link of their project with their submission so we can see their project and include a quick brief (video or written) on how they used Voiceflow or voice in their project.
- The winners will be selected once all teams have been evaluated and will be contacted via email to receive and coordinate their prizes.

Barn2Door Project Award

Technology has allowed many small businesses to transition to virtual platforms, but countless small businesses still endure a multitude of challenges.

Barn2Door is an impact-driven technology startup in Seattle, helping sustainable Farmers move their small farm businesses online. The winning team will help impact small businesses in a positive way (bonus points if it positively impacts the food system).

Each team member from the winning team will receive $25 of local farm food, and Barn2Door swag (hats, stickers).

  • Originality
    Has this project been done before at hackathons in the past? How creative is their project in solving the problem at hand?
  • Technology
    How technically impressive was the hack? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did it use a particularly clever technique or did it use many different components? Did the technology involved make you go "Wow"?
  • Design
    Did the team put thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface?
  • Completion
    Does the hack work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted?
  • Learning
    Did the team stretch themselves? Did they try to learn something new? What kind of projects have they worked on before?
  • Adherence to Theme
    Does the hack adhere to the event's theme? Does it implement that theme fully or just partially?
